Panama's Pacific coast is one of the most important sea turtle nesting sites in Central America. Olive ridley turtles nest here throughout the year, with peak activity from July to November. On a good night, dozens of females emerge from the ocean under cover of darkness to lay their eggs.
This guided nighttime experience is led by certified naturalist guides who have been working with sea turtle conservation programs on this coast. They know where the turtles nest, how to observe without disturbing the nesting process, and how to time the visit for the best chance of a sighting.
The experience is conducted with strict conservation protocols: no flash photography, minimum light exposure, and silent observation. What you witness — a creature that has existed for 100 million years, hauling herself across the sand to lay her eggs — stays with you long after.
