The highlands around Boquete offer two of Panama's most distinctive pleasures within an hour of each other: Caldera's natural volcanic hot springs — where thermal water emerges directly from geothermal activity at the base of Volcán Barú — and the premium coffee farms where the world's most celebrated coffees grow.
The day begins with the coffee farm visit in the cool morning hours — tour, picking and cupping at a Geisha estate. After lunch in Boquete, we head to the Caldera hot springs for an afternoon soak in thermal pools ranging from 38°C to 43°C, surrounded by cloud forest and the sound of the Caldera River.
The combination works perfectly: the coffee experience engages the mind, the hot springs release the body. It's the kind of day where you arrive back at your accommodation ready to sleep for ten hours.
