Volcán Barú stands at 3,475 meters — Panama's highest peak, and the only point on Earth where you can see both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans simultaneously on a clear day. The hike is serious but achievable for fit hikers with proper preparation.
Departing from Boquete at midnight, we hike through cloud forest in the dark, arriving at the summit around 5am to watch one of the most spectacular sunrises in the Americas. The moment of first light over both oceans — when the sky shifts from black to orange to gold — is genuinely life-changing.
Our guides are experienced mountain leaders who have completed this hike hundreds of times. They carry emergency equipment, know the trail in all weather conditions, and set a sustainable pace that gets every hiker to the top safely.
