Boquete sits at the heart of one of the Western Hemisphere's most concentrated birdwatching zones. The cloud forest trails around Volcán Barú harbour species found nowhere else: the Resplendent Quetzal, Volcano Hummingbird, Black Guan and Emerald Toucanet — all within a short drive of town.
Our guides are specialist birders who have spent years learning these trails. They know the specific trees, hours and weather conditions that produce the best sightings, and they carry top-quality Swarovski or Zeiss binoculars and a spotting scope for every group.
The morning session focuses on the most productive hours — dawn to about 10am — when bird activity peaks. We cover 2–3 locations depending on recent sighting reports, always targeting the species most likely to be active that morning.
